Óscar Reynolds, a leader of the heavy transport sector, reported that leaders from all nine departments of the country participated in the assembly and decided to move the protest one day.
The sector’s representative warned that interdepartmental and provincial roads will be closed as part of the road blockades.
Reynolds noted that, currently, with the lack of fuel, the heavy transport sector is practically paralyzed, as they have no diesel to operate.
He stressed that government authorities must ensure the provision of diesel and the availability of dollars in financial institutions and the parallel market.
In addition to the heavy transport sector, the federated transport sector will stage a strike with blockades on Thursday, August 1, with the same demands as the heavy transport sector.
