Over 500 Musicians to Fill Libertad Square: More than 500 musicians including our El Alto’s dance ballet, original bands, and special guests Willy Claure and Alex Rivas will take center stage at noon today in Plaza Libertad, which is easily accessible via the Plaza Libertad stop on the Blue Line of the Teleférico.
Cuecas, Morenadas, and Cumbia: The serenade to the Virgin of Carmen promises a vibrant celebration of Bolivian music. The audience can expect beloved cuecas like “Olvídate de mí,” “No le digas,” and “Cantarina” performed by Willy Claure. Energetic morenadas “Cecilia” and “Yotaleña” will also take the stage, alongside other national folklore pieces. Alex Rivas will add a touch of cumbia to the lively mix.
El Alto’s Own Cueca: The city’s recently adopted official song, the cueca “Siempre El Alto,” will be performed during the event. “Willy Claure will join the bands and Alex Rivas to delight the audience with our cueca,” shared Tarifa.
Cumbia Lineup Promises Unique Performances: The gathering boasts a lineup of popular cumbia bands, including Mejillones, Illimani, Pedro Domingo Murillo de Alfonso Zabala, and Super Explosión. Each group will bring a special surprise guest, adding an extra layer of excitement to the festivities.
