Radio Fides reports that the Federation of Neighborhood Associations of El Alto (Fejuve de El Alto) has suspended the 24-hour strike and lifted roadblocks across the city.
Juan Saucedo, a leader from one of the Neighborhood Councils (Fejuves), told Radio Fides that the decision to lift roadblocks was made to avoid further disruption to the residents of La Paz. He emphasized the need to respect President Arce’s government.
“Yes, we have entered a recess and lifted all measures, including roadblocks, to avoid harming the population. Gradually, protesters are returning to their districts.”
Neighborhood councils in Alto have declared a state of emergency and stated they will not tolerate any further attempts to destabilize the government.
