Social organizations and authorities in Los Cintis municipalities (Incahuasi, Villa Abecia, Villa Charcas, and Culpina) have confirmed road blockades starting on May 24th on the Tarija-Potosí highway (Ruta Nacional 1).
Frustration Fuels Protests: The protests stems from the Los Cintis region’s dissatisfaction with delays in infrastructure projects. Local authorities have demanded reports from the departmental government regarding delayed construction on the Cinteña Triangle, the Saladillo – Molle Aguada section, and the second phase of the Saladillo – Culpina route.
Repeated requests for the governor’s presence in the region to address these concerns have been ignored, further escalating tensions.
Travel Alert: Frustrated by the lack of response from the government, civic organizations in Los Cintis are determined to proceed with roadblocks. Expect delays or road closures on National Route 1 between Tarija and Potosí starting May 24th.
