Violence Erupts as Police Fail to Lift Roadblocks on Caracollo
Tensions flared on the La Paz-Oruro highway this afternoon as police clashed with Caracollo protesters. Officers attempting to clear the roadblock deployed tear gas, were met with a fierce response of stones and sticks from residents. A Unitel report at 8:00 PM showed residents lighting bonfires on the road. At least three vehicles were damaged by thrown stones and sticks.
