The Executive Board of the Regional Federation of Yungas Transport in La Paz just released a statement in which it has directed affiliated unions and federations to participate in a nationwide 24-hour strike on August 1. The decision comes in response to a crippling fuel shortage affecting the entire country.

Travel Alert: The strike will feature roadblocks and demonstrations primarily around La Paz’s Minasa Terminal, potentially disrupting travel to and from northern La Paz and Rurrenabaque. Additionally, tours along the Death Road are likely to be affected.
