The city of Oruro was brought to a standstill this morning due to a series of roadblocks initiated by the San Cristóbal Departmental Federation of Drivers. While ABC’s Road Accessibility Map currently lists 11 roadblocks across the state, the actual number is believed to be higher, with San Cristóbal announcing 19 roadblocks this weekend.

Travel Disrupted, Sajama Park Highway Blocked: At this hour, the impact of the roadblocks is significant, with traffic on the main La Paz-Oruro route also disrupted. A particularly disruptive roadblock at Patacamaya has blocked both lanes of National Route 1, disrupting travel to Sajama Park.

Oruro Bus Station Suspends Departures: The Oruro Bus Station has responded to the situation by suspending all departures, but as of now, departures from the La Paz Bus Station that pass through Oruro remain normal.
